USA Swimming Taps Arden Hills Brian Nabeta As Assistant Coach For Men’s National Youth World Cup Team
Nabeta Will Travel to Barcelona, Spain in June to Coach the Grand Prix Series

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (March 4, 2010) – USA Swimming has named Brian Nabeta, Arden Hills USA Swim Team Head Coach & Director of Aquatics, to the prestigious position as Assistant Coach for Men’s National Youth World Cup Team. In fact, Sacramento will have a proud showing at the international swim competition this year as one other local coach from the greater Sacramento area was also selected to be an assistant coach. In addition, two local swimmers -- one who already trains at Arden Hills with Nabeta -- will compete in the three-city Mare Nostrum European Grand Prix Series which will occur on June 9 & 10 in Barcelona, Spain, with Nabeta assisting.

In his role as part of the assistant coaching staff, Nabeta will provide race preparation support and ensure the the talented team of 30 young athletes is ready to compete at the highest level possible. Of course, Nabeta and the other coaching staff members will also provide encouragement, enthusiasm and motivation for the team in an effort to help the team be mentally prepared and understand the amazing accomplishment they’ve collectively and individually achieved.

“It is a great honor to be appointed on the coaching staff on an international level like this,” said Brian Nabeta, Head Coach & Director of Aquatics at Arden Hills. “I consider myself carrying on a local legacy of sorts because the only other swim coach from Arden Hills who has ever been chosen to coach internationally was former owner and legendary swim coach Sherm Chavour. I’m very proud to follow in his footsteps and especially excited to have two local swimmers as part of the team.”

After the Grand Prix Series concludes, Nabeta will resume his role at Arden Hills Resort Club & Spa where he manages a staff of six talented swim instructors and oversees more than 150 promising year-round USA Team athletes.
