CARMICHAEL, CA (MPG) - Two Carmichael entrepreneurs have floated a catering business – with a horse float.

 The 50-year-old trailer’s conversion to a bar lends a Mister Ed touch to Rebecca Britschgi and Kristina Morse’s Faye Thyme Events.

 “We liked the idea of a mobile mini bar,” explains Rebecca. “We found a 1973 horse trailer on Facebook Marketplace. It was in need of serious TLC but we loved it. We gutted and framed the inside. We added cupboards, electrical and plumbing. We can plug in a mini fridge, a blender and a coffee maker. We get a lot of attention when we haul the mini bar around behind our SUV.”

 The trailer rental fee of $699 for four hours includes two servers.

 “Kristina and I both have backgrounds in property management, so we have good business heads,” says Rebecca. “I’d done many luxury events for family and friends, so we decided to a make it a business. We taught ourselves balloon artistry. ‘Faye’ is a family name from both sides. ‘Thyme’ reflects our use of organic products in our charcuteries.”

 The ladies recently celebrated membership of the Carmichael Chamber of Commerce and catered the organization’s “Best of Carmichael” celebration. “It was our biggest event to date,” says Rebecca. “It was fun to meet local merchants, especially now that we’re among them.”

 A business specialty is luxury sleepovers. “I have three children, so I know how much kids love our theme parties,” says Rebecca. “My daughter’s favorite is our “Galaxy” theme, that includes illuminated planets and strobe lighting. “Elevating an experience – like a birthday or Christmas – gives kids a memory for a lifetime.”
