Taste of Carmichael the Place to Be May 24

CARMICHAEL, CA (MPG) - The 19th annual Taste of Carmichael showcasing the best that the community has to offer is on May 24.

This fun event has received recognition as the Best of Carmichael event for many years.

This is the biggest annual fundraiser presented by the Kiwanis Club of Carmichael, which was also named the best nonprofit organization of the year by the Carmichael Chamber of Commerce for 2024.

Platinum sponsor is Raley’s. Gold sponsors are Homes by Towne and Sacramento County Supervisor Rich Desmond. Bronze sponsors are Maita Subaru, SMUD, Carmichael Improvement District and Gabrielle Rasi, DDS.

Taste of Carmichael attendees help the Kiwanis Club of Carmichael Foundation provide funds in support of the Kiwanis Family House, local schools, visual and performing arts projects, scholarships, children’s programs, and numerous community organizations and projects. All event proceeds go back to the community to support children and families, so Kiwanis Club members say, bring your appetite and friends to savor the best local flavors at the Taste of Carmichael.

Taste of Carmichael ticket holders can sample food from dozens of restaurants and markets, featuring a variety of cuisines including American, Mexican, Italian and Asian, as well as desserts throughout the night.

Staff from valley and foothill wineries and breweries will pour their favorite vintages and drafts.

Participating businesses include Smokey Oaks Tavern, Skip’s Kitchen, River City Brewing Company, Rey Azteca, Carmazzi Caramel Corn, Carvalho Family Wines, Garcia’s Mexican Restaurant, WING STOP, Divided Sky Neighborhood Tavern, GB Gelato, Silver Sake, See’s Candies, Serritella’s Ristorante & Pizzeria, Fast Cat, Strings Italian Cafe, Carmichael Mesa Mercado, Raley’s, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Papa Murphy’s, New Glory Craft Brewery, Claimstake Brewing, Voluptuary & Lucid Wines, Cafe Madre, Chili Smith Family Foods, Tokyo Express, I Love Pie Bakeshop, Effie Yeaw Nature Center, Carmichael Library, Carmichael Chamber of Commerce, Oakmont of Carmichael, Mission Oaks Recreation and Parks District, Carmichael Water District, Carmichael Times - MPG, Carmichael Parks Foundation, Carmichael Recreation and Park District, and San Juan Unified School District.

Todd Morgan and the Emblems, and the DT’s, two of the area’s most popular bands, will provide live dance music.  

A raffle and a silent auction will also be part of the annual Taste of Carmichael. 

In addition, several local businesses and nonprofit organizations will set up tables with information about their services and programs.

The Taste of Carmichael will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. May 24 at Carmichael’s La Sierra Community Center, 5325 Engle Road. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased at www.kiwanisclubofcarmichael.com or at the door that night.  The event is for anyone 21 and over.
