Something Old, Somewhere New

A local take on television’s Antiques Roadshow will hit town on May 1st. Collectors may bring treasures for evaluation during an Antiques, Bubbles, and Brunch affair at the Milagro Center. Carmichael Parks Foundation will host the May 1st fundraiser.

Filling Sacramento’s newest event venue with relics is not so off the wall. Milagro Center owner Allan Davis and his late wife Nancy were antique dealers and passionate collectors. Davis said, “I will love having fine old things under our fine new roof. Events that celebrate history and culture are part of our vision for Milagro. That the event benefits the community, is another bonus.”

Milagro Center restaurants will provide food, beer, and champagne for the brunch event, scheduled between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. The $45 admission allows appraisal of two items. Additional antiques can be appraised for $15 each. A $100 VIP ticket offers early admission and evaluation for four items. Latecomers may skip the brunch and bring treasures for $15 per item after 3 p.m.

Proceeds will enable park beautification and provide scholarships for sport, reading, and language programs at the park district. For information, visit www.carmichaelparkfoundation.org.

Tickets may also be purchased at Carmichael Park headquarters: 5750 Grant Avenue.
