Congregation Beth Shalom’s food festival celebrates traditional and modern Jewish cuisine.

CARMICHAEL, CA (MPG) - The 42nd annual food festival at Carmichael's Congregation Beth Shalom promises fine Jewish cooking on Sunday, September 15.

A fall tradition in Arden/Carmichael, the event is held in and outside the synagogue. Food may be preordered, purchased to eat on site or taken home.

Lox and bagel breakfasts are a draw for early birds. Lunch includes matzo ball soups and stuffed cabbage rolls. Culinary booths will also offer falafels, pitas, hummus, kosher hot dogs and barbecued brisket. Pastries, coffee cakes and kosher babka are much anticipated desserts. While many of the promised treats are prepared locally, other are shipped from famous Jewish delis in Los Angeles, Berkeley and Oakland. A bakery section offers specialty breads. Food may be pre-ordered, eaten on site or taken home. Sales start at 9 am and continue till 3pm.
