- Multiple Olympic medal winner and ABC’s Dancing with the Stars champion Shawn Johnson will headline the Gymnastics and Acro of Fair Oaks (GAFO) Flip for Gymnastics Gala at Technique Gymnastics in Rancho Cordova, Calif.

Taking place on Saturday, May 14th from 4 to 6 p.m., the Gala serves as a fundraiser for the GAFO, a one-hundred percent volunteer-run 501(c)3 non-profit organization, which benefits the competitive teams that train at Technique Gymnastics.

In addition to the keynote address by Johnson, this elegant semi-formal event will include a fine array of hors d’oeuvres and desserts, a gymnastics showcase featuring some of Technique’s nationally and world-ranked gymnasts from each of the club’s competitive teams programs, a silent auction, and raffles.

Johnson won four medals at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China. She earned the gold medal in balance beam, along with silver medals in team, all-around, and floor exercise disciplines. She is also a five-time Pan American Games gold medalist, 3-time U.S. all-around champion, as well as individual all-around World Champion.

Johnson is a recognizable figure to many from her participating, and ultimately being crowned winner, on season eight of Dancing with the Stars. In 2012, she came in second place on the all-star edition.
