RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - On Monday, May 27th Rancho Cordova will be commemorating the fallen heroes of our proud and stately nation this Memorial Day. The Cordova Community Council will host the event at the Sacramento VA Medical Center, including a 150th Anniversary of A Salute to Chaplains.
Memorial Day serves to revisit our nation’s worst tragedies and noblest moments and to see how we’ve managed to remain one and indivisible through the eyes of our bravest men and women: the fallen heroes of our Armed Forces.
Those congregated will receive the color guard with its fanfare and listen to speakers serving in distinct capacities meditating about the meaning of sacrifice and its importance to our lives.
Bestowed with the gifts of life and liberty, the community will behold in solemn contemplation the dedication with which others conceived and ensured our survival. The event will include a Brick Dedication Ceremony and Honors.
The day of consecration will be featuring the Rancho Cordova River City Concert Band performing music moving the day closer to our departed heroes and loved ones.
Admission is free of charges and will include refreshments for those attending. The event will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday and be held at the Sacramento VA Medical Center at 10535 Hospital Way, Rancho Cordova, California.
