Elliott Homes Will Build City's Largest Development

RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - On August 14, 2020, Elliott Homes, Inc. and the City of Rancho Cordova broke ground on Rio Del Oro, the largest development in the city’s history.

Rio Del Oro spans 3,800 acres in Rancho Cordova and could fit Downtown Sacramento in its footprint. The development will feature thousands of new homes, over 7.6 million square feet of commercial, professional and industrial space, one of the largest parks in the region at 130 acres, and the city’s next high school.

“Elliott Homes is proud of our new Rio Del Oro community,” said Price Walker, Vice President of Project Development, “and excited to finally begin this long-awaited project. Despite the challenges of Rio Del Oro’s size, the efforts in this first phase will result in the construction of model homes by the end of 2021.”

The City of Rancho Cordova is a thriving, safe and fun community where people live, work, learn and play. Rio Del Oro is the result of a long-term partnership between owner and developer Elliott Homes and the city and project plans have been in the works for more than 10 years.

“Today marks a milestone in the City of Rancho Cordova,” said Rancho Cordova Mayor David Sander. “We are proud to join Elliott Homes and celebrate the start of construction for Rio Del Oro. This development will expand our housing options, attract new business, generate job opportunities, establish new roadway connections, and provide additional education and recreation spaces.”

The development area is east of Sunrise Boulevard and between White Rock Road and Douglas Road. The first phase of Rio Del Oro begins with construction of new single-family homes adjacent to the White Rock Road corridor.
