Available 24/7, the new facility serves individuals 18 and older

SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - September 9th marked the official opening of the new Heritage Oaks Patient Enrichment Center (HOPE Center), a stand-alone 16-bed psychiatric health facility located in Sacramento County and driven by the mission of providing mindful and caring services to our community members experiencing a behavioral health crisis. The new HOPE Center is located at 4378 Auburn Blvd.

“Our team of interdisciplinary doctors, nurses, clinicians and mental health technicians will collaborate in delivering recovery-oriented services and offer HOPE for a better tomorrow,” said Mike Zauner, Group Director, Behavioral Health Division, Universal Health Services. “We HOPE to empower our patients with the skills needed to make choices that will reduce harm and enrich lives in a dignified and respectful environment where one can receive immediate, individualized care.” 

Dr. Ryan Quist, Director, Sacramento County Behavioral Health Services, stated, “We are excited to have the HOPE Center open in Sacramento County. This new facility will provide access to inpatient care for Medi-Cal beneficiaries experiencing significant psychiatric distress, who are often the most vulnerable, and it’s important for them to have access to high-quality care. The Heritage Oaks Patient Enrichment Center (HOPE Center) is an outgrowth of a well-established organization with a proven track record of serving the Sacramento region and helping countless people on their road to recovery.”

Available 24/7, the new facility serves individuals 18 and older. Referrals to the HOPE Center are authorized through the Sacramento County Mental Health Treatment Center. 

Several public figures and healthcare executives spoke at the event, including Rich Desmond, Sacramento County Supervisor, District-3, Dr. Ryan Quist, Director, Sacramento County Behavioral Health Services Division, Mike Zauner, Group Director, Universal Health Services, Melanie Nelson, Administrator, HOPE Center and Izzy DeLancy, Honorary Mayor of Carmichael, representing the Carmichael Chamber of Commerce. Other attendees of note included City of Sacramento District-2 Councilmember, Sean Loloee, Genevieve Levy, District Director, representing Assemblymember Seventh District, Kevin McCarty, and Brian Jensen, Regional Vice President with the Hospital Council of Northern and Central California, among dozens of other County and Hospital representatives.
