ORANGEVALE, CA (MPG) - Alumni of Casa Roble High School in Orangevale are planning the school’s biggest reunion ever, combining the Class of 1972’s 50th anniversary with classes from 1969 through 1975.
The school was brand new when the Class of 1969 graduated. The freshmen that year were in the Class of 1972, so it seemed fitting to invite both older and younger alumni of the school who attended then. Reaching the siblings who attended Casa Roble at the same time, as well as many high school sweethearts that have now married and become grandparents, is going to make the reunion celebration a great event for all seven graduating classes.
Registration is going on now for the weekend of October 1 and 2 to be sure there is plenty of space and food for the attendees. The weekend starts with a celebratory dinner on Saturday, October 1 with fun activities and photo opportunities. The next day, a picnic in the Lew Howard Memorial Park in Folsom will provide a venue for families of alumni and festive visiting. A website at www.ramreunion.link/crhs provides registration details and more information about the events.
Reaching out to the more than 2,000 alumni who graduated in these classes several decades ago is no small feat.
Contacts have been found all over the world from Alaska to Europe. To make the reunion an update for even those far away, all alumni can add to a collective video to provide an update and greeting to their classmates. Classmates interested in contributing their story should reach out to the contact on the registration website. The video will be shown at the Saturday dinner, and available online after the reunion.
The reunion organizing committee is made up of classmates from far and wide. Fortunately, meeting by virtual tools like Zoom has allowed more people to participate in the planning. Committee members are William Back, Danna (McKnight) Beith, Tim Bryan, Jim Brown, Bill Conklin, Bob Cornwell, Jody Corson, Mike Klaus, Teresa (Foust) Sedmak, Mike Whitney, Buff White, Evonne (Nyquist) Farquhar, Penny (Robertson) Bravo and Rudy Villa.
