RIO LINDA, CA (MPG) – Have you noticed anything different in Rio Linda lately?
Perhaps you spotted the Rio Linda arch located at the intersection of Rio Linda Boulevard and M Street that had been partially lit for several months. Well, things have changed.
The historic Rio Linda arch that has been a staple in the community since 1925 was recently repaired. This is the first time in over a decade that the arch was fixed.

Onlookers throughout the area can thank two local ladies for the repair: Terrie Hunt and Tabitha Worth.
Hunt is the owner/broker for River Ridge Realty. She grew up in Rio Linda and has run her “giving back” program for years. Repairing the arch with Worth was the latest initiative that Hunt enacted for her program.
Hunt also serves as the chair for the District 1 Sacramento County Sheriff’s Christmas Toy Project in Rio Linda and Elverta. She also runs a foster family program which Hunt said was “near and dear” to her heart. The foster program allows animals rescued to live on her ranch and enjoy living before finding a loving home.

Worth is a very active member of the Rio Linda community. A few activities that she is involved in include the chamber of commerce, Rio Linda/Elverta Country Faire and the Christmas light parade. Worth also works with "the grange," who are the designated care takers of the arch.
The arch was originally donated by the City of Marysville “due to structural and electrical problems caused by a lack of maintenance,” according to a 2017 story from The Appeal Democrat.
If you’re an admirer of the Rio Linda arch and are thrilled to see it brought back to life, make sure to say thank you to Terrie and Tabitha for their generous donation.
