Twin Rivers Senior Receives $20,000 Scholarship
Jan 26, 2023 12:00AM ● By TRUSD News ReleaseMCCLELLAN, CA (MPG) - Twin Rivers Unified School District senior Cherish Jackson will leave the Sacramento Kings game tonight (Jan. 13) with a $20,000 scholarship. The Sacramento Kings and recording artist 50 Cent will present Jackson with a paper check during the fourth quarter.
The Grant Union High School student and member of Pacers Moving Forward (a Roberts Family Development Center after-school initiative) is one of 200 Sacramento area students who applied for a scholarship for students who plan to attend Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). She was among the top two chosen. The scholarship is possible through a partnership between the Sacramento Kings, Trajectory Foundation and G-Unity Foundation.
Jackson has been a TRUSD student since she began her K-12 education – Morey Avenue ECD, Del Paso Heights Elementary, Smythe Academy of Arts & Sciences Middle School and Grant Union High School.
