Carmichael Goes Rockabilly Saturday

Dyana and the Cherry Kings are scheduled for this Saturday’s concert in Carmichael Park. The rockabilly group includes lead singer Dyana and guitarist Tom Proulx.


CARMICHAEL, CA (MPG) - Carmichael’s spring/summer concert season kicked off last Saturday, with two solid hours of dance music by Remedy 7. More than 800 fans enjoyed the sunset gig.

Dyana and the Cherry Kings are featured this Saturday, May 10. The group offers 1950s rockabilly hits, including Elvis, Eddie Cochran and Carl Perkins’ classics.

The Carmichael Park District concert season this year comprises eight May-to-June events. In addition, a Symphonic Band Festival will be featured on Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1.

All shows are free. Showtime is 6 p.m., unless otherwise stated. Remaining performances are as follows.

Dyana and the Cherry Kings will be on May 10.

Maya Latin Tribute Band will be on May 17.

Hipper than Hip will be on May 24.

The Symphonic Band Festival will perform from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 31 and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 1.

Wasted Space will be on June 7.

Fast Times will be on June 14.

Groove Thang will be on June 21.

Todd Morgan and the Emblems will be on June 28.
