Carmichael Park Goes Latin, Saturday

CARMICHAEL, CA (MPG) - Carmichael Park’s Spring/Summer concert season continues on Saturday with the Maya Latin Tribute Band.
The park last week resounded to 1950s Elvis, Eddie Cochran and Carl Perkins hits. Nearly 1,000 fans picnicked and danced at sunset to the rockabilly group Dyana and the Cherry Kings.
Entertainment this year comprises eight events May through June. In addition, a Symphonic Band Festival will be featured on Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1.
All shows are free. Showtime is 6 p.m., unless otherwise stated. Remaining performances are scheduled as follows.
Maya Latin Tribute Band will be this Saturday, May 17.
Hipper than Hip will be on May 24.
Symphonic Band Festival ensembles will perform from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 31 and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 1.
Wasted Space will be on June 7.
Fast Times will be on June 14.
Groove Thang will be on June 21.
Todd Morgan and the Emblems will be on June 28.
