Carmichael Gets Hip May 24

CARMICHAEL, CA (MPG) - Carmichael’s spring/summer concert season continued last Saturday, with Carmichael Park crowds hopping to the Latin tribute band, Maya.

The Sacramento-based ensemble played Hispanic and baby-boomer favorites for almost 900 fans. 

Music continues this Saturday, May 24, with funk/rock stylings from Hipper Than Hip.

Carmichael Park District’s concert season this year comprises eight May-to-June events. In addition, a Symphonic Band Festival will be featured on Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1.

All shows are free. Showtime is 6 p.m., unless otherwise stated. Remaining performances are scheduled as follows.

Hipper than Hip will be on May 24.

Symphonic Band Festival ensembles will perform from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 31 and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 1.

Wasted Space will be on June 7.

Fast Times will be on June 14.

Groove Thang will be on June 21.

Todd Morgan and the Emblems will be on June 28.

Concert sponsors include Carmichael Recreation and Park District, Carmichael Chamber, Carmichael Improvement District, Food in the Hood 916, Buck Family Automotive, Sacramento County Supervisor Rich Desmond, KZAP Radio, Carmichael Parks Foundation, Carmichael Kiwanis and Arthur Murray Dance Studio.
