SACRAMENTO REGION, CA (MPG) - College application season has begun and San Juan Unified District will host a variety of opportunities from Sept. 18 to Sept. 26 to help students explore educational options and prepare for post-secondary success.
College Week kicked off its college-readiness celebrations on Sept. 18, after press time, with the Historically Black Colleges and Universities Recruitment Fair at El Camino Fundamental High School. Eleventh- and 12th-graders and their parents had the option of riding a bus from their home school to the recruitment fair.
An on-campus activity starting Sept. 22 and running through the week at each school involves students, teachers and staff decorating their doors with the college of their choice.
Virtual college visits will be offered at the district school all day on Sept. 23.
On Sept. 24 is “What To Be/Career Technical Education (CTE) Wednesday.” Get in character and dress as your future career. Show your classmates and school staff what trade or career you would like.
All students in the San Juan Unified School District are invited to College Night 2025 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 25 at Rio Americano High School, 4540 American River Drive, Sacramento. Visit booths to meet with college representatives from California State University, University of California, private schools, community colleges and more. Buses will be provided for students and adults.
On Sept. 26, dress in your college gear or dress like your favorite mascot for a spirit day at your school.
