The 2024 Best of Carmichael winners pose for a victory portrait at La Sierra Community Center.
CARMICHAEL, CA (MPG) - The popularity contest that decides Carmichael’s top businesses has kicked off.
Best of Carmichael’s results for 2025 will be revealed on Nov. 7. The Carmichael Chamber of Commerce officials will announce bragging rights during a La Sierra Center gala.
Businesses in 70 categories are in contention for awards. Entities that make Carmichael a commercial hub seek support in divisions that include professional services, nonprofit organizations, markets, restaurants, fitness centers and churches.
Thanks to swing votes, new winners emerge annually.
Some incumbents nevertheless wear a trail on the red carpet. Bel Air market has consistently bagged “Best Grocery Store.” Katie Pexa’s Farmers agency usually has insurance-voters covered. River City Brewery pops a cork every year.
Carmichael’s favorite teacher will again be decided. Nominations are open for educators from kindergarten to university level. Winner recognition includes a $400 prize, sponsored by Midas Auto Repairs.

Kardell Delacruz (aka “Mr. Dell”) was voted “Best Teacher” last year. The California Montessori Project staffer’s victory earned him $400.
Food categories are the hottest ticket.
“We included best bartender, best date ambiance and best tacos,” said Carmichael Chamber of Commerce President Rosie Buck. “With so many local restaurants, we love highlighting great kitchens."
Entertainment is another town specialty. The Carmichael-based Wasted Space group last year rocked laurels for best concert band.
Senior categories now include fitness, residence and elder services.
Best of Carmichael is a Carmichael Times and Chamber of Commerce collaboration.
Nominees must be located in Carmichael or have Chamber of Commerce membership. Anyone can cast a ballot from anywhere in the world. Organizers are still accepting candidate nominations.
Victors will celebrate during the Carmichael Chamber of Commerce's chocolate-flavored “Wonderous Sweet Soiree” on Nov. 7.
“We encourage people to strut red-carpet glam,” Buck said. “Once again, the big spotlight is on Carmichael.”
Candidates will be listed at www.bestofcarmichael.com later this month.
The awards dinner cost is $65 for chamber members and $75 for non-members.
Presenting sponsor is Buck Family Automotive. Other event sponsors include Sacramento County Supervisor Rich Desmond, A & A Events, SMUD, Carmichael Improvement District and Dignity Health.
