Bera Secures Over $14M in Community Project Funding

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA (MPG) – Recently, Representative Ami Bera, M.D. (CA-06) announced $14,046,000 in Community Project Funding to support 14 projects across California’s Sixth Congressional District.

“I’m proud to secure more than $14 million in federal funding to support fourteen projects across our district that strengthen our neighborhoods and improve our quality of life,” said Representative Bera. 

“These investments support innovation and technology infrastructure, strengthen public safety and emergency preparedness, improve water reliability, enhance transportation safety and mobility, and improve our parks and community facilities. My team and I remain committed to bringing federal funding home and working with local partners to ensure these investments deliver lasting benefits for Sacramento County residents.”

The Community Project Funding grants are as follows:

$402,000 for the Jackson Laboratory in Sacramento to acquire advanced imaging technology supporting research on infectious diseases and cancer.

$800,000 for the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office to upgrade forensic technology used to investigate and prevent online child exploitation.

$1,092,000 for the Carmichael Water District to replace aging well screens and protect drinking water quality for Carmichael and Rancho Cordova residents. 

$1,092,000 for Sacramento County to strengthen water supply reliability in the Arden Service Area.

$850,000 for the Snowy Egret Overcrossing Study to evaluate options for a new connection over Interstate 5 improving pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicle access.

$850,000 for the City of Rancho Cordova’s Rossmoor Bar Trail Enhancements Project to convert informal paths into safe, accessible walking trails and restore native habitats.

$2,000,000 for the Marysville Boulevard Vision Zero Safety Project to reduce serious and fatal traffic injuries by adding protected bike lanes and sidewalks for pedestrians.

$260,000 for Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services to expand food access through fleet replacement and facility improvements.

$500,000 for the San Juan Avenue Phase 2 Project in Carmichael to improve safety and accessibility along a key neighborhood corridor.

$850,000 for the Bohemian Park Community Center Resilience Wing to strengthen emergency preparedness, workforce training, and community services through enhanced facilities.

$850,000 for the Roberts Family Development Center to support site preparation and planning for the North Sacramento Technology Center.

$1,000,000 for the Del Paso Heights Sports Complex to expand recreational facilities and community gathering spaces.

$1,500,000 for the Watt Avenue Safe Stay Facility to furnish and equip low-barrier shelter and supportive services for individuals experiencing homelessness.

$2,000,000 for the Rio Linda Central Park Rehabilitation to modernize park facilities and improve accessibility for families and community events.

Since Community Project Funding was reintroduced in 2022, Congressman Bera has secured $63,860,303 for 51 projects across Sacramento County.
