CARMICHAEL, CA (MPG) – Rising goddess-like from pandemic setbacks, two Carmichael Aphrodites have revitalized their Gibbons Drive salon.

A Goddess Touch offers a cornucopia of health and beauty services. Owner Nicole Perkins and her partner Simone Bowman celebrated a Carmichael Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting Feb. 21.

“We’re so glad we survived COVID and got to hold this event in Black History Month,” said Nichole Perkins. “We like to show that Black businesswomen are successful, and that Black-owned businesses are an important part of American history.”

Additional to beauty treatments, partners Perkins and Bowman have developed a niche as a medical and wellness spa. Here, deep massage techniques achieve post-surgical lymphatic drainage and reduce swelling and inflammation.

“We work with physicians, chiropractors and physical therapists, and with medical staff in hospitals,” said Perkins. “We also offer occupational therapy.”

Mental health support for veterans and services for seniors in hospice facilities is another area of professional outreach.

Athletes also benefit from the goddess touch. Perkins and staff provide a healing touch for players at Bobby Jackson’s annual Celebrity Golf Tournament in Lincoln. They also work with police officers during the Cops for Kids charity golfing event in in El Dorado Hills.

“We can help with the ‘golfers’ elbow’ that comes from their hard swings,” explained Perkins. “We’ve also provided volunteer service at women’s conferences. Goddesses love to give back. We’re not just about beauty. We’re concerned with overall client wellness.

“We love Carmichael because it’s so family oriented,” business owner Perkins said. “Families need us as much as we need them. We goddesses are not King Midas, but we want everything we touch to turn out golden.”
