Park Concerts Kick Off May 2

Wasted Space band's rockers will entertain in Carmichael Park on June 20. The free concert is part of a May/June music series hosted by Carmichael Recreation and Park District. 


CARMICHAEL, CA (MPG) – Carmichael Park District concerts will this year comprise a May to June Saturday series.

The eight-gig schedule leaves the park stage bare in the hotter months of July and August.

In addition, a Symphonic Band Festival will be featured on Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7. Coming to Carmichael from all over Northern California, a dozen volunteer community bands will perform a varied repertoire, from marches to jazz.

All shows are free and dancing is encouraged. Donations to sustain the series are received at all events. Food trucks will offer refreshment.

Performances are scheduled as follows (6 p.m. downbeat unless otherwise stated):

East Wind Band will be on May 2.

Group Therapy will be on May 9.

David Perez Band will be on May 16.

Outlaws and Angels will be on May 23.

Sacramento Symphonic Band Festival will perform on June 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Remedy7 will be on June 6 at 6 p.m.

Sacramento Symphonic Band Festival will perform on June 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Todd Morgan and the Emblems will be on June 13.

Wasted Space will be on June 20.

Hipper than Hip will be on June 27.
