CARMICHAEL, CA (MPG) - A rock-pro since the age of 14, Todd Morgan grew up minutes from the stage where he presented the sixth show in Carmichael Park’s summer concert season on Saturday, June 13.
The musical prodigy graduated from Rio Americano High School and has been a headliner for state and county fairs for two decades. He is booked for the Cali Squeeze Hideaway Stage at the California State Fair on July 31 and August 1.
Local fans have packed Todd Morgan’s park concerts since 2009. The singer/songwriter works solidly over Northern California when not producing CD albums in Sacramento.
Despite sweltering temperatures, Morgan and his Emblems served up cool stylings, from rockabilly to the Rolling Stones. The trio seasoned the mix with original hits. Almost 500 Carmichaelites and visitors applauded the two-hour show.
Carmichael’s 2026 concert series offers two more Saturday performances. Another popular Carmichael band, Wasted Space, will provide rock covers on June 20. The June 27 series finale features the funk/rock ensemble Hipper than Hip. Downbeat for both remaining shows is 6 pm.
Concerts are free and dancing is encouraged. Donations to sustain the series are accepted at events. Food trucks offer refreshment. The bandstand is near the North Avenue entrance to the park.
Concert sponsors include: Sanborn Real Estate, Carmichael Recreation and Park District, Food in the Hood 916, Buck Family Automotive, Supervisor Rich Desmond, KZAP Radio, Carmichael Parks Foundation and Carmichael Kiwanis. For information, visit www.carmichaelpark.com.
