CARMICHAEL, CA (MPG) - Dignity Health Mercy San Juan’s Trauma Prevention Program was recently honored with San Juan Unified School District’s Most Valued Partner (MVP) award in recognition of its commitment to student safety, injury prevention and family wellness during the 2025-2026 school year. 

The award recognizes the program’s partnership with San Juan Unified, which serves students from preschool through high school through evidence-based education and community outreach.

Key educational initiatives recognized include Stop the Bleed which empowers individuals with critical skills to control severe bleeding in emergency situations. Teen IMPACT Driver, educating young drivers about safe driving practices and the dangers of impaired and distracted driving. As well as the Walk and Bike to School Campaign which promotes pedestrian safety and healthy habits for students walking or biking to school.

These initiatives have had a significant positive impact on students and families, fostering a safer and healthier learning environment.

Since launching its trauma prevention efforts, Mercy San Juan’s team has worked with schools, community organizations and local partners to provide education focused on preventing injuries, promoting safe behaviors and improving health outcomes throughout the community.
