CARMICHAEL, CA (MPG) – Despite the temporary closure of the Carmichael Library due to renovations, Family Storytime is forging on in a new location. In partnership with Carmichael Recreation & Parks, Family Storytime will be held at Carmichael Park through Nov. 19.

Families can join the Carmichael Library on Thursdays from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. (except Sept. 17), weather permitting. Blankets or chairs are welcome but not required.

Family Storytime includes songs, rhymes, movement activities and stories all designed to support the early learning skills of young children said Caitlin Greenwood, branch supervisor for the Carmichael Library.

Improvements at the library include HVAC replacement, as well as interior and exterior ADA enhancements. The project began in August 2026 and was projected to last several weeks, according to the Sacramento Public Library website.

The Carmichael branch is among five locations to undergo ADA building enhancements this year.
