SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - The Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) is encouraging community members to try transit during the month of September! By riding transit and logging trips in the NorCal GO app, community members will be entered to win weekly $25 gift card drawings or one $100 gift card drawing at the end of month.

“Transit connects all corners of the Sacramento region,” said Jill Gayaldo, SACOG board chair and City of Rocklin councilmember. “Transit Month gives us an opportunity to highlight the region’s transit agencies and routes while encouraging community members to take the bus or microtransit to get to work, go to an event or even to visit friends or family members. We hope the Transit Month celebration and gift card giveaways inspire people to try transit.”

The six-county Sacramento region transit system provides millions of trips every year by transit agencies large and small. Each service provides critical connections to support local economies, decrease traffic and keep the region moving.

NorCal GO is an app designed to provide convenient, eco-friendly and cost-effective travel solutions for residents across the region. This new platform offers an easy one-stop shop to find transit, bike, and walking routes and carpools for commutes and daily travel alike. NorCal GO is available in app stores and can be accessed at www.NorCalGO.org
