The world is on the brink of another Great War, and Lizzy’s parents seem to be fighting their own kind of war. That night a radio broadcast starts to bring them together as they plan to escape monsters from Mars. How long will the peace last? Are the monsters real? For Lizzy, nothing can stop her memories of the real monsters. Imagination Theater in Placerville presents the World Premier of War of the World’s: Monsters Among Us, written and directed by local talent Jeremy Olson. This original play is woven around segments of the infamous radio play by Howard Koch, directed by Orson Welles, and based on the novel by H.G. Wells. Tickets are now on sale for performances October 2-11, 2026, Fridays at 7pm, Saturdays and Sundays at 2pm. This is a Storytellers and Scripts production which is a staged reading with minimal set/blocking.
